You are buying a digital, print-at-home pdf : no physical pattern will be sent.

This is a reproduction of a one-size pattern originating from the French fashion magazine “La mode illustrée”. English translation of the pattern and instructions by a bilingual (French/English) seamstress.

This is an instant-download, non-refundable digital file for strictly personal use.

Pattern content :
17 pieces : the skirt, the bodice and the sleeves, the bodice lining, the yoke, the collar, the cuffs and the belt.

Please note : the pattern does not include any elements for the confection of the historical underpinnings required to create an historically accurate silhouette, such as the corset, petticoats, bustle pad etc…

Available printing formats :
4 formats (Letter, A4, A3 and A0) available for an edge-to-edge printing and assembly (in order to avoid the long and tedious step of trimming the margins of 50 pages !)

Number of pages for each format : 48 US Letter / 48 A4 / 24 A3 / 3 A0
Assembly layout available for each format.

This is a one-size pattern in the following dimensions :
Bust, half width : 48 cm / 18.9''
Waist, half width : 34cm / 13.4''
Front skirt lenght : 105cm / 41.3''

The pattern includes the following vintage information :
• Faithful reproduction of the vintage pattern with its succinct annotations
• Brief description of the costume and original fabrics
• Supplies and estimated yardage based on period accurate fabric width (my advice : make sure to review your yardage needs after fitting the pattern to your measurements)
• Very summary assembly instructions (only half a page of indications without any sketch or diagram for an entire dress !!)

Included supplementary information :
• Cutting layout for each type of fabric, to give you a better estimate of the required yardage for modern fabric widths (140 cm / 55”)
• Straight grain direction on each piece
• English translation by a bilingual seamstress (not a simple google translation)

Advanced difficulty level :
• You must be able to fit a one-size pattern to your measurements
• You must have a general knowledge of the assembly methods suitable for the pattern’s time period
• You must be able to autonomously assemble a garment (the assembly instructions alone are not sufficient to provide an understanding of each step : many details are left to personal interpretation, given that the 1900’s readers already possessed advanced sewing skills).

As a summary : this pattern is for you if you already possess the above mentioned skills or if you want to challenge yourself and improve your sewing abilities !

If you are a beginner and don’t wish to give yourself a headache, this pattern isn’t for you.

The pattern does not include the following indications :
• Seam allowances, seam types, finishing types, registration marks, placement of interfacing, buttonholes or closures
• No multi-size gradation
• No precise yardage requirements (as this will be dependent on your measurements)
• No detailed assembling instructions with diagrams and photographs
